What is the Kitab–Al Quran?
Al Baqarah – The Cow (2:185)
Ramaḍân is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the decisive authority. So whoever is present this month, let them fast. But whoever is ill or on a journey, then ˹let them fast˺ an equal number of days ˹after Ramaḍân˺. Allah intends ease for you, not hardship, so that you may complete the prescribed period and proclaim the greatness of Allah for guiding you, and perhaps you will be grateful.

We can observe from the verse above are:
- Al Quran or the Quran is revealed on the month of Ramaḍân
As guidance for humanity
With clear proofs of the guidance
The decisive authority–the criterion
The command to fast for whoever is present (witnesses) on the month of Ramaḍân
The verse clearly illustrates how Allah explains that the Quran is Al-Hudaa (ٱلْهُدَىٰ) — a divine guidance for humanity. It also serves as Al-Furqan (ٱلْفُرْقَانِ), the criterion that distinguishes between truth and falsehood.
Therefore, it is both logical and rational to acknowledge that only through the revealed verses of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Messenger مُحَمَّد ﷺ Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) an we attain a precise understanding (Fiqh فقه) of Allah’s revelations.
We are also guided to understand that the Quran is self-sufficient in revealing its own message, and by referring to its verses, we can comprehend its teachings and revelations. Furthermore, the Quran directs us to follow the example set by the Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him), who embodies the practical application of those revelations.
We will discuss in detail which verses encompass the revelations and guidance in the near future, (InshAllah, Allah’s will).
