The Ranks (61:6)
And ˹remember˺ when Jesus, son of Mary, said, “O children of Israel! I am truly Allah’s messenger to you, confirming the Torah which came before me, and giving good news of a messenger after me whose name will be Aḥmad.” Yet when the Prophet came to them with clear proofs, they said, “This is pure magic.”

The Messenger Isa (Jesus) (PBUH) holds the distinguished position as the final Messenger from the lineage of Israel. During his time among the Children of Israel, he consistently proclaimed the imminent arrival of the Messenger Muhammad ﷺ, who is also known as Ahmad—the Seal of Prophets and Messengers. This divine sequence reached its culmination with the Messenger Muhammad ﷺ, after whom the door of prophethood was permanently closed, marking the completion of Allah’s revealed guidance to humanity.
The Most Unjust among all People (The Disbelievers)
As-Saf – The Ranks (61:7-8)
61:7
Who does more wrong than the one who fabricates lies about Allah when invited to submit ˹to Him˺? For Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
61:8
They wish to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah will ˹certainly˺ perfect His light, even to the dismay of the disbelievers.
https://quran.com/61/7-8
None is more unjust than the one who fabricates falsehoods against Allah whilst being invited to Islam—to submit wholly to the Creator through Tawhid (pure monotheism not Trinity) and sincere worship. Such individuals reject the divine invitation, instead attributing rivals and partners to Allah despite clear evidence of His Oneness. This profound injustice explains why “Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”
The disbelievers attempt “to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths”—striving to suppress divine truth through falsehood and deception. Their futile endeavour resembles one attempting to blow out the sun with a mere breath—an utterly impossible task. Just as the sun’s radiance cannot be diminished by human breath, the light of Allah’s truth cannot be extinguished by human denial or opposition.
So Allah Responded With One of The Most Beautiful Verses in The Quran,
As-Saf – The Ranks (61:9)
He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with ˹true˺ guidance and the religion of truth, making it prevail over all others, even to the dismay of the polytheists.
https://quran.com/61/9
Despite their persistent efforts, Allah declares with absolute certainty that He will “perfect His light, even to the dismay of the disbelievers.” The divine truth brought by the Messenger Muhammad ﷺ and all prophets before him, including the Messenger Isa (Jesus) (PBUH), will inevitably prevail and illuminate the world, regardless of how vehemently the disbelievers oppose it.
Allah affirms this promise by stating: “He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with true guidance and the religion of truth, making it prevail over all others, even to the dismay of the polytheists.” This declaration reveals Allah’s plan for Islam to achieve intellectual and spiritual supremacy over all other belief systems. The phrase “to make it prevail over all religions” signifies that monotheistic belief would ultimately overcome all non-monotheistic concepts throughout the world.
Islam’s Triumph Over All Religions
This prophecy was revealed during the third year after Hijrah, when Muslims were facing immense opposition and persecution. Yet, Allah confidently proclaimed that the pure monotheism of Islam would triumph over all other religious ideologies—a forecast that has indeed manifested throughout history as the message of Tawhid has spread across continents, transforming societies and intellectual traditions.
What distinguishes Islam is its comprehensive framework for addressing humanity’s challenges until the end of time. The Qur’an and Sunnah provide timeless principles for solving mankind’s most pressing issues—from personal ethics to family structure, economic justice to environmental stewardship, governance to international relations. Unlike man-made ideologies that require constant revision, Islam’s divine guidance offers balanced solutions that harmonise spiritual needs with material realities, individual rights with collective responsibilities, and tradition with progress. This perfect equilibrium ensures Islam’s continued relevance in addressing emerging challenges across all eras, confirming Allah’s wisdom in making it the final revelation to humanity.
